Micro-Perforated Breather is a light duty single sided foil facing house wrap product. Widely used in drained brick-veneer cavities on construction projects. For construction projects with anything other than drained brick veneer cavities, it is suggested to use a class 4 vapour permeable product. This product is Australian made. It can be noted that this will provide roughly a R0.8 with the foil facing, as long as a 30mm cavity is maintained. As soon as you put a batt in the cavity behind the foil this R0.8 is lost. Also known as single-sided antiglare foil this product has more perforations than regular breather products. This ensures that moisture is able to escape from the inside to the outside but not back in. It is used to transfer water down from the top plate toward ground level without entering the building.

Most tapes will stick to this product, but in moist conditions may be harder to adhere to. Australian standards require a 150mm overlap OR that the product be taped along any joins, all penetrations should be taped either way.
