Optimo underfloor insulation will provide a barrier to reduce heat loss and cold draughts. Optimo reduces draughts that enter through gaps in the flooring, keeping the homes more comfortable and energy efficient.
Acoustically superior
Sound can enter your home anywhere that air can. External noise can also be transferred through a suspended timber floor. Bradford Optimo is an excellent sound absorber. Not only will it help reduce noise entering your home from outside, it will also dampen the sound of foot traffic and give timber floors a more solid feel. The results speak for themselves. If reducing sound transmission through flooring is important then Bradford Optimo is the best insulation down under.
Once the batts are in place fix Optimo aluminium straps to the underside of the floor joists every 500mm using a galvanised screw or nail. Optimo straps typically come in packs of 250 straps which is enough to cover an area of 53m2 when 415 batts are used and 70m2 for 565mm batts.
All Bradford Optimo Fixing Straps and saddles are recommended to be spaced every 500mm along the joist to ensure the batts are properly supported.
Before you start
- Switch off power at the fuse box
- Measure your floor joint spaces. Usually they will be 450mm spaces or 600mm spaces.
- For 450mm centres use 415mm wide batts
- For 600mm centres use 565mm wide batts – Please Note: These are a non stocked item and may have longer lead times.
