Thermoseal Firespec is an extra heavy duty, single-sided reflective foil and woven e-glass fabric laminate. The product is suitable as a vapour barrier and water barrier membrane when required on construction projects. Firespec is suitable for use where a non-combustible sarking-type material is specified in accordance with the National Construction Code (NCC). Suitable as a wall wrap or roof sarking product, also usable in BAL regions 12.5 to FZ. Not recommended for applications with slate, terracotta, or concrete roofs.

Firespec is a Class 2 vapour barrier and water control membrane, and is recommended for use in NCC climate zones 1 to 5. Climate Zones 6 to 8 suggest to use a vapour permeable product to meet the current NCC requirements. Not designed for exposure to the elements for long periods. With wall applications Bradford advise to cover with a facing within 6 weeks. With roof applications Bradford advise to cover with roofing material within 2 weeks.

Firespec contributes a reflective R-value when the low-emissivity foil surface is positioned adjacent to an air-cavity. However if no cavity is present then this product will provide little to no added R-value.
