XPS insulation is a rigid foam board made through an extrusion process that creates a dense, closed-cell structure. Unlike expanded polystyrene (EPS), which is formed from individual beads, XPS is a continuous, uniform material. One of the XPS products we supply is a 25mm board measuring 600mm x 2400mm (covering 1.44m²), offering an R0.81 thermal value and a compressive strength of 250–350 kPa. Its square-edge profile makes it easy to install in both residential and commercial projects, and the high-density 32–36 kg/m³ structure ensures it stays rigid and stable over time. Because XPS is impervious to water, it won’t absorb moisture or break down, even in damp soil conditions, making it ideal for slab edges, perimeter insulation and trench applications. Because XPS is a rigid, dust-free product, it’s easier to handle compared to some batt-style insulations. Basic safety gear like gloves and eye protection is still recommended when cutting the boards, but the installation process itself is clean and user-friendly.
